Our Care Instructions

Part of our commitment to sustainability means taking good care of our products to guarantee longevity. Here you will find a few simple tips to make your favourite 1001 wishes products last as long as possible.

Generally, we advise to wash clothing items as little as possible. The textiles and environment will thank you for it.

One small tip to savour hard to wash cardigans, the Nooshi cuddle doubles up as a great scarf and catches a lot of drooling and food droppage.

Cotton knits

Jumper, trousers, cardigan, bloomer, hat, booties, tights:

Cotton knits are washable at 30 C in the washing machine, using a normal cycle. To be safe use a detergent for delicate items and dry lying flat, this way the items remain soft and do not lose shape. Do not use a high spinning cycle for knitted items or put them in the dryer. Do not be tempted to wash the items too often but instead air out the items after wearing and using the same material try to rub out small stains.

Baby Alpaca knit

Cardigan, bloomer, beanie, booties, blanket

The lovely hand knitted product by myalpaca Copenhagen can be washed cold by hand or on the delicate cycle in your washing machine. Do not use a high spinning cycle for any knitted items or put them in the dryer (ever). We cannot stress this enough: do not be tempted to wash too much but air out the items and rub out stains. If you find that after months of daily use little bubbles have formed, use a pilling shaver and the items will look as good as new.

Wool/silk mix

Pyjama, body

Items out of this Material are washable at 40 C on a normal cycle. Do use a delicate detergent for wool and silk and refrain from using a high spinning cycle or dryer. Our tip for those really nasty stains like carrot puree: apply ox-gall soap to the fresh stain before washing and after washing put the wet item into direct sunlight for a natural bleaching effect.

Bamboo/cotton jersey mix, pure cotton

You can use a normal detergent though these materials may be less delicate to wash, still do refrain from using a high spinning cycle or dryer. Our tip for those really nasty stains like carrot puree: apply ox-gall soap to the fresh stain before washing and after washing put the wet item into direct sunlight for a natural bleaching effect.
